    Description of Duties: The Security Analyst is targeted at working with the project teams to understand and address their regulatory needs, in particular FISMA controls. This resource will lead and coordinate POA&M efforts, identify standard language that leverages generalized SSS controls, and help strengthen the overall security posture of the organization with regards to regulatory controls. The resource will lead the various security project activities to include but not limited to policy development, technical control assessment and evaluations with minimum supervision.

    • Dedicated interface between project & security team
    • Leads POA&M activities and develops technical controls to meet POA&M activities
    • Focus on creating and enhancing RFP iSSP language and building templates for future RFP type ISSP
    • Create Low and Moderate level NIST security plan templates
    • Establishes new technical standards to meet FISMA compliance
    • Work to integrate security into the proposal process
    • Provide hands-on technical expertise for building standards and meeting project requirements
    • Provides C&A expertise in the design phase of projects and security implementations at SSS
    • Improve SSS’ FISMA compliance capability

    Qualifications:

    • Excellent experience and understanding of HIPAA, FISMA and NIST SP 800 series guidelines.
    • Deep understanding of C&A process and requirements for addressing them
    • Strong written skills
    • Related security certifications a plus: CISSP, CISM, CISA, SANS, etc.
    • Strong communication skills
    • Critical thinking
    • Experience with C&A, ST&E, NIST risk assessments, and FISMA
    • ISO 27001/2 experience and security program work desirable
    • Technical experience with vulnerability scanning tools
    • Comfort with networking and server operating systems
    • Ability to work with technical security controls (IPS/DLP) a plus
